About

n577557029_8575My name is Lee Cash and this is an abomination.

I live in Dublin, Ireland with my coffee-hating wife, Sheila, and ball-loving, psycho, death-defying dog, Keena.

After moonlighting as a games journalist for three years, and in what I can only describe as some recondite form of weird alchemy, I eventually bound my love of the gaming industry with my academic background (a musty pre-millennium degree in Computer Science) and joined DemonWare, a subsidiary of Activision, in May of 2011 as a project manager. We are the Masters of Lobbies! And other things.

I’ve led a pretty interesting life (so far), from travelling around the world in 96 days, essentially eloping to Mauritius (nothing against our families, we just really wanted to go small, and what’s smaller than meeting the guy who’s going to marry you at the actual altar?), running a marathon in about four hours (so close!), breaking bricks (and a small Mexican guy) with my feet, sky-diving, (reluctantly) bungee jumping, playing in front of a live audience (before they promptly rioted and caused thousands of old-money “pounds” to the venue), and also managing to butcher the Japanese language quite sublimely when ordering food in Tokyo. I was so good that he didn’t even bother to bring any food for Sheila.

Now that I’m no longer writing semi, quasi or even pseudo-professionally, I’ve decided to resurrect this blog as a form of self-indulgent catharsis. Fair warning: if you’re here to find out juicy details about the next Call of Duty game, that ain’t happening. That said, I will undoubtedly discuss gaming and the industry as a whole, topics some of you might find interesting, especially now that I’m on the other side of the virtual fence, cringing at the kvetching and carping of callow games journalists. It’s only fair, for I carped, and kvetched and displayed an unhealthy amount of callowness in my day.

For everyone else, I’m sure stupid poses, adventures in coffee deliriousness and crazy dog tales will keep you amused. For now.
